Professional

Ronnie Self has worked in Texas, London, New York and Paris. Since 1999 he is Principal of Ronnie Self Architect in Houston.

Self was a designer and collaborator in the Paris office of Renzo Piano Building Workshop for twelve years. Among other projects he was the Architect in Charge of the Atelier Brancusi Reconstruction for the Centre National d’Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou.

Self is registered in Texas and France and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Teaching

Ronnie Self is Professor at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture & Design at the University of Houston.

Writing

Ronnie Self is the author of The Architecture of Art Museums – A Decade of Design: 2000 – 2010. He was guest editor of the review Cite 96: Architecture / Art. He was the American correspondent for the French architectural magazine Archicréé and has also published articles in the The Architect’s Newspaper, Architectura Viva, Texas Architect and Cite.
